Georgetown University

A team from Georgetown conducted a study on ‘The Impact of Cooperation on Improved Governance and Development Outcomes’ in 2015–2018. The objective of the study was to understand Seva Mandir's impact in a number of intervention villages, looking at village characteristics, village infrastructure, village institutions, common resources, employment and migration, government programmes, empowering women, conflict resolution, public infrastructure, service delivery and afforestation.

Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur

Seva Mandir partners with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Udaipur, to offer their students exposure and experience in the development sector through a rural immersion programme and a summer school.

The rural immersion programme, facilitated by Seva Mandir, places IIM Udaipur students in the heart of rural villages so they can begin to understand the context in which the communities live.

The summer school brings together students from IIM Udaipur and Duke University (USA), along with early-career workers in NGOs to develop their skills in the sector.

J-PAL (The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab)

J-PAL’s Poverty Action Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (USA) has conducted a number of research studies in partnership with Seva Mandir. These studies include, for example, ‘Health Care Delivery in Rajasthan’, ‘Absenteeism of Teachers and Health Providers in Developing Countries’, and ‘Improving Immunization Coverage in Rural India: A Clustered Randomized Controlled Evaluation of Immunization Campaigns with and without Incentives’.

Profs Esther Duflo, Abhijit Banerjee and Michael Kremer won the Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science in 2019 for their work, including several studies carried out in collaboration with Seva Mandir. 

McGill University

The Institute for Health and Social Policy at McGill University (Canada) conducted a study in partnership with Seva Mandir, the Institute for Financial Management and Research (India) and the International Development Research Centre of Canada to explore the influence of affordable day care on women’s empowerment in India as well as on the children themselves and local communities.

Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU)

The Norwegian University of Life Sciences, in cooperation with Seva Mandir, runs a course under its Department of International Environment and Development Studies. Students from NMBU also have the opportunity for an internship at Seva Mandir as part of their studies.

St Christopher School Letchworth Garden City

Seva Mandir is in a long-term partnership with St Christopher School Letchworth Garden City, a secondary school and sixth-form college in the United Kingdom. Two groups of sixth-form students visit Seva Mandir every year to engage with the people we work with and discover the types of programme we are implementing. The school also conducts many fundraising events to raise money for Seva Mandir.
