Programme Associate - Education

Work Location: Udaipur
Language Requirements: English, Hindi

Education Programme

Half the children in the rural areas where we work do not attend school, and over a third has never been to school. Through our interventions, 6,000 out-of-school children access quality primary education every year. By educating mostly first-generation learners and striving for equal enrolment of girls, the organisation is transforming the demand for quality education among families most disadvantaged communities and empowering young people to achieve their best.

Required Qualifications:

• Postgraduation in Education, Social Work and/or Rural Development. Candidates with qualifications in other field can apply if they have relevant experience.
• Minimum 3 years work experience in Education. Knowledge on activity-based learning in desired. Experience of similar work will be an advantage.
• Excellent English writing skills, good capacity to handle data.

Responsibilities:

• Design teaching-learning materials and tools on activity-based learning pedagogy, considering the local context and children's needs.
• Support the implementation team in the execution of planned activities to ensure the desired outcomes.
• Visit implementation locations regularly (including regular overnight stays) to monitor the quality delivery of activities and teaching methods used by teachers.
• Undertake teachers' training on new teaching tools, and support implementation teams to handhold teachers.
• Organise visits of senior management, donors, government and other stakeholders.
• Review the progress of projects jointly with implementation teams and other programmes of Seva Mandir. Prepare progress reports as scheduled.
• Research new local needs in teaching-learning, and explore opportunities to share learning and learn from other organisations.
• Monitor the financial progress of activities and support teams in effective utilisation.
• Participate in other activities of the organisation based on own interest and organisational need.
