Launching Khushi Phase 2

A one-day orientation program was organized for Child Development Project Officers (CDPO) and Lady Supervisors (LS) associated with the Khushi under the collective aegis of Hindustan Zinc, Seva Mandir, and Women and Child Development Department.

The project is currently operating in 1355 Anganwadis in 5 blocks of Udaipur.
Targeted efforts were made to address the issue of malnutrition in addition to promoting community participation and enhancing the effectiveness of aangnawadis through digitalization and focussed work on pedagogy for pre-school education in the first phase of the project.

Deputy Director Women and Child Development Department, Udaipur district Ms. Bindubala Rajawat attended the opening ceremony as the chief guest. While appreciating the work of Anganwadi workers, she suggested taking this project to other districts of Rajasthan. Ms. Bindubala, while thanking aanganwadi workers for their services said, "I thank my team and especially aanganwadi workers who remained committed to their work during COVID-19"

The event was co-chaired by the Vice President of Corporate Services V. Jayaraman and Ms. Anupam Nidhi, CSR Head, Hindustan Zinc Limited. Ms. Anupam expressed her happiness over the success of the first phase of the project in enhancing the effectiveness of aanganwadi centers with joint efforts and participation of corporate, voluntary organizations and the government and added that more centers and districts would be added to the project in the upcoming years.

Mr. Ajay Mehta, Mr. Ronak Shah(Chief Executive, Seva Mandir), Mrs. Laxmi Thakur (Director Programmes, Seva Mandir), and the project team along with the CDPOs , LS, and Aanganwadi workers from project-blocks participated in the launch event. The workshop revisited the learnings and challenges from phase 1 and laid out the strategy for the upcoming phase. All participants appreciated the work done in phase 1 and congratulated the project team for the upcoming phase.
